Usui Reiki Ryoho (Usui Spiritual Energy Healing Method) is a traditional branch of Japanese Reiki that strives to honor the practices and philosophy of the method's founder, Mikao Usui (1865-1926). The therapeutic application of Reiki, known as hands on healing (tenohira) in Japanese, has been gaining popularity in recent years as a complimentary alternative therapy. One who learns the system of Reiki will begin a practice of spiritual and personal development. There are two aspects of Reiki: receiving a treatment and/or studying the system.
